Isabel – Case Study

When I first met Isabel she was highly stressed and very depressed. She was avoiding photos, feeling unhealthy and knew she was on the path to feeling sick and miserable.

Although her fitness level was terrible, due to the amount of hiking she did, the idea of using a gym and lifting weights was completely alien to her and if anything she was a little reluctant and maybe even blind to what resistance training could actually give her.

Regardless of her doubts she leaned into the process and trusted what I was saying.
We started by evaluating her current lifestyle, habits and diet. To be fair it wasn’t terrible she was eating a lot of healthy foods but neglecting protein and having a few too many treats. Couple that with social occasions almost weekly and you get the formula to create what she had become.

Her social life was important to her so we set her as it should be, everyone wants to be able to live and enjoy themselves, it just about aligning it with your goals. So we set her a daily protein target and set a calorie target for Monday-Friday and left room for socials on the weekend.

This method allowed her to still enjoy her life and socialise with friends and family without sacrificing what she was trying to achieve. It also gave her almost a break once a week. We coupled this with 3 Fullbody workouts per week using resistance training and focusing on getting stronger each week.

Isabel dropped 17kg in 5 months, tripled her energy, her strength and her mood and now doesn’t know how she would ever live without the gym again. She’s managed to stable her blood pressure and no longer needs medication, feels like she can run up the hills she used to walk up and carries all her shopping to the car at once. This is still whilst enjoying weekends away and social time with friends and family.

Together we built a personalised system that fits her life and her needs all without sacrifice. Now she can continue on her journey and dial this system up and down to fit around her. I think the picture says it all but her words are “I am a different person, you’ve changed my life”.
